YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT: 2002 GENERAL | 2018: Honours

• The Department of Chemistry carries out regular career counselling sessions to increase student employability and awareness about different career pathways that can be pursued.
• Regular student seminars are held in the department to aid in soft skill development of the students. The department also brings out a magazine annually where students contribute articles.
• Student projects are carried out from time to time to acquaint students with simple experimental techniques outside the academic curriculum.
• Regular meetings of the “Chemistry Research Club” are held in the department and “Sharing of Research Experience” by faculty members is also done regularly to help develop research aptitude and analytical thinking in the students.
• The Department also organizes seminars and special lectures with speakers of national and international repute in order to increase the exposure and interactions of faculty members and students of the department with the experts of similar and related academic fields.
• Department has organized one day National Level Seminar on ” Bangla Bhashaye Bigyan Charcha ” in collaboration with Department of Bengali Shri Shikshayatan College and Departments of Bengali and Chemistry, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri College; sponsored by the Higher Education, Science & Technology and Biotechnology ( DHESTBT ), Govt. of West Bengal in 2018.
• Department has also organized an International Webinar on ” History of Science ” in collaboration with Institute of Science Education and Culture ( ISEC ) and Indian Chemical Society in 2020.
