DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE – EVENING SECTION (Post Graduate in Accounting & Finance and Marketing)

YEAR OF ESTABLISHMENT: 2011

• Post Graduate Department of Commerce, offers specialisations in Accounting & Finance and in Marketing.
• The department aims at facilitating the students in the development of competency in research in various emerging fields of commerce. Every year the department also arranges Workshop-cum-Certificate Course in Research Methodology and Applicationof SPSS- A widely used Statistical Tool for research work.
• The department focuses on cutting edge teaching and uses case studies, simulations as well as experiential learning. Special lecture series are also arranged for the students on a regular basis on various contemporary issues.
• The department also publishes a peer reviewed Edited Volume with ISBN number – FAME – highlighting contemporary issues on FINANCE, ACCOUNTING, MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS since 2016. The journal invites research-based papers from in-house as well as from other college teachers and students. The department has issued four Volumes so far.
• The department has taken initiative to motivate the students for appearance at UGC-NET examination. So far six students have qualified NET examination and are teaching in different educational institutions.
• The students have got placed in reputed organisations like PWC, Deloitte, Wipro, Investment Banking, banks and other industrial sectors. Some students also opt for Teaching professions.
• The department also organises Seminars, Webinars, FDPs and Industry visit to enrichstudents as well as faculty.
