| DEPARTMENTAL HIGHLIGHTS |
- The Evening section offers two sets of specializations for students in the fifth semester- Accounting & Finance and Marketing, to choose from, as per University of Calcutta syllabus. This enables students to opt for subjects which suit their preferences and aptitude. Students from Marketing Specialization have scored well and some of them even made it to the University Rank Holders list.
- The Department also encourages students inclined towards entrepreneurship to be associated with the Institute’s E-Cell and pursue the Entrepreneurship courses, which are conducted in collaboration with National Entrepreneurship Network, Wadhwani Foundation. A students’- venture of the Department comprising members of Institute e-cell, Shri Vriddhi were certified by the NEN-Wadhwani Foundation’s Global Jury on YOUNOODLES (A Global Jury Platform) as potential real ventures and received multiple funding opportunities.
- The Department enables students to develop practical skills with respect to Computerised Accounting by providing training in MS Tally and other software applications supporting IT in Business, E-filing of taxes, to help students undertake internships and improve their job prospects as freshers.
- The Department on its own and in collaboration has periodically organized Special Lectures, Seminars and Webinars for students, researchers and academicians to help bring about awareness regarding latest available research, resources and knowledge in the field of Commerce and Management- on topics such as accounting and IFRS, advances in, various laws and regulations such as in Taxation, Impact of ICT on Finance among others.
- The Department along with the Postgraduate Department of Commerce regularly publishes an Edited Volume with an ISBN- FAME- Contemporary issues on Finance, Accounting, Management and Economic, which offers valuable insights into some of the recent developments in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Management and Economics.

Most students of the Department after completion of undergraduate programme, have gone on to pursue higher studies at various universities within India and abroad. They have opted for various programmes like- M.Com; MBA, MHRM etc.
Many students have successfully completed various professional courses such as Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy and Company Secretaryship. |
